MoodFolio ("we", "us") is a private journaling app. This page explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have over your data. MoodFolio is not a medical device, therapist, or crisis service; if you are in crisis, see the resources at the bottom of this page or on our support page.

What we collect

  • Account info: your email address (and a display name if you set one).
  • Journal entries: the text you write, the mood rating you choose, and timestamps.
  • Onboarding answers: the short intake responses you give when you start.
  • Device tokens if you opt in to push notifications, so we can send reminders.
  • Basic analytics (PostHog) on app usage — never your journal contents.

How we use it

  • To show you your own entries and mood history.
  • To generate AI responses to your journal entries (sent securely to our AI provider).
  • To send the daily reminder if you opt in.
  • To improve the product in aggregate. We do not sell your data.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of subprocessors strictly to operate the service: Lovable Cloud (hosting and database), our AI model provider (to generate journal replies), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications, only if you opt in), Resend (transactional email), and PostHog (anonymized product analytics). We do not share your journal contents with advertisers.

Your controls

  • Edit your intake: any time from the header → "Edit intake".
  • Delete an entry: from the History page.
  • Delete your account: from the header → "Delete account". This permanently removes your profile, entries, intake answers, and device tokens.
  • Email us: see the support page to make any other request.

Children

MoodFolio is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
